L’information à la télévision : révélateur de la « crise du journalisme » ?

L’association de l’information et du divertissement dans les médias et plus particulièrement à la télévision est définie par le terme d’infotainment. Depuis son apparition à la fin des années 1980, ce phénomène est significatif de l’évolution du journalisme audiovisuel et plus généralement du journalisme dans son ensemble; un métier en pleine mutation et en crise à l’image de Canal +. Une profession bouleversée notamment par l’influence des réseaux sociaux et par les propriétaires des médias. D’abord très apprécié et mis en lumière, l’infotainment est aujourd’hui amplement remis en cause, par les Français mais aussi par les journalistes eux-mêmes. L’information, pilier fondamental du journalisme, est surpassée par le divertissement. À travers ce mémoire, nous allons tenter d’analyser le fonctionnement de ce processus afin de comprendre pourquoi le métier et ses acteurs sont affectés par ce phénomène et comment la crise du journalisme se caractérise-t-elle à travers l’infotainment.
SUMMARY
Combination of information and entertainment in the media and more particularly in television is defined by the term infotainment. Since it appeared in the late 1980s, this phenomenon has been significant in the changing of audiovisual journalism and more generally journalism as a whole; an industry in full change and in crisis like Canal +. A business disrupted by the impact of social networks and media owners.Well appreciated and highlighted at the beginning, the infotainment is today amply questioned by the French but also by the journalists themselves.Information, a fundamental pillar of journalism, is overpowered by entertainment. Through this paper, we will try to analyze how this process works in order to understand why that industry and its actors are hit by this phenomenon and what are the journalism crisis features through infotainment.
